spring time

Greetings from the Cape Fear Coast,
There is a lot of pogies right off the beaches from New River Inlet all the way to the Shoals.  The spainsh and blues are ruling the Wrightsville area beaches right now and a few kings were caught last week off Ocean Crest Pier.  A few nice kings were caught down off the shoals on Friday and Saturday.  Find your favorite rock and let the troll begin.  There have been several Cobia spotted in the 5-10 mile range and we got some AJ's to the boat about 8miles off New River Inlet last week but the really did not want to play.  The real Cobia blast happened off Cape Lookout last week.  Lots of COBIA following the pogies.  There were many fish caught in the 40-50lb range one reporter told me.  The inshore bite has been with drum and trout starting to bite well in the Cape Fear River from Snow's Cut to Southport.  If shad fishing is our thing Lock-n-Dam#1 is still holding some fatty shad and some nice Cat's are just down river.

Thanks for Stopping by,
